
James T. Sayre, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Jim did his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, attended medical school at New York Medical College in NYC and completed a residency in General Surgery at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT. After his residency, he joined the faculty of the University of CT Medical School, where he worked for four years before joining Dan in private practice in Bristol, CT.
Jim has held various positions during his 35 years at Bristol Hospital, including Chief of General Surgery. He currently serves as Director of the Bristol Hospital Beekley Breast Center. Jim is the constant professor. He currently teaches the surgical P.A.s rotating through Bristol Hospital from Yale, Quinnipiac and St. Joseph's University's. Jim teaches anatomy to first year medical students when drafted by UCONN medical school faculty.
Jim joined Dan on his maiden trip to Jeremie, Haiti in 2016 and has been regular traveler to Jeremie ever since. Jim's goal is to provide necessary surgical care in Jeremie and eventually make his services unnecessary as Jeremie's local surgeon becomes autonomous.
Jim inspires a culture of continuous learning and passion for teaching among everyone working in the operating room during GASP mission trips to Jeremie.
Jim is married with three adult children.
